Showing little signs of jet-lag having flown in from New Zealand less than 24 hours ago, Michael Hussey looked fresh enough to have a go at the bowlers.
The 34-year-old middle-order batsman said he is looking ahead to today's game against the Rajasthan Royals. Having missed eight matches for the Chennai Super Kings, Hussey, said he kept track of his team's progress from NZ though he couldn't watch the matches due to the time difference.
"Tomorrow is a crucial match for us against Rajasthan Royals. We have to get the momentum going. We have four home matches and have the home advantage. I am looking forward to it," Hussey said,u00a0 deftly side-stepping queries about team composition while hinting that he wasn't sure of playing.
Hussey felt that the Super Kings are very much in the hunt for a semi-final berth. "The race for the four berths is close. Though we have lost five matches, it is not the end of the world for us. We can turn it around. Now (with his and Bollinger's arrival), coach Stephen (Fleming) and the captain (M S Dhoni) have more options," he said.
"Australia have been playing a lot of ODI and Test matches in the recent past and we were able to quickly adjust to these two different formats.
"It is not a difficult task for us to get focused and make the necessary adjustments for 20-20 games," he pointed out.
The scheduled pre-match media conference by the Rajasthan Royals did not take place for reasons not immediately known.
