Intellectuals of Kolkata yesterday welcomed the International Cricket Council's decision to allow the Eden Gardens to host three World Cup matches, but expressed disappointment over not getting an India match.<br /><br />"I feel bad that Eden will not host a single India match. But at the same time, it is also good to hear that Eden Gardens will host some World Cup matches," said Shirshendu Mukhopadhaya, a renowned writer. <br /><br />"It is sad, but I think the ICC could have reconsidered it," said Ranjit Mullick, an eminent Bengali actor.
