"You don't survive as a captain. You stay for a long time only if you are performing.
The BCCI has to take some action. If I were a selector, I would give a chance to Virat Kohli. Fine, he did not do well in England, but it was a one-off performance.
If you don't put responsibility on players, then how will you know how they perform," said Azharuddin, who was unveiled as a co-owner of the Champions Tennis League's (CTL) Chandigarh franchise yesterday.
Azharuddin said that like other countries even India should adopt a different captain for different format policy.
"A good player will excel in all formats of the game. But there are some players who are meant only for the one-day format.
It is very hard for the captain to concentrate on three formats at one point. Like other countries, even we can have different captain for different forms of the game."
