India pacer Mohammed Shami, who had missed out on the recent Australia T20I series and has also been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against South Africa, tested negative for Covid-19 on Wednesday.


The 32-year-old, who was infected by the virus around 10 days ago, took to social media to give an update about his health. “Negative,” Shami wrote on his Instagram account along with a picture of his Covid-19 test report.

The development comes hours after the BCCI named Umesh Yadav as his replacement for the T20I series against South Africa.
