One has always wondered why Mahendra Singh Dhoni never dons his wicketkeeping gloves in a Team India's practice session. While he has always concentrated on his batting in the nets, Dhoni has managed to maintain high standards with his wicketkeeping.

Even in the last legs of his illustrious career, Dhoni still manages to come up with mind-bogging dismissals. Yesterday, however, Dhoni was seen sharpening his 'keeping skills as the Indian team prepared to take on the Sri Lankans in the first match of the three-match ODI series here tomorrow.
Dhoni put on his wicketkeeping gloves after the three-and-a-half hours practice session was wrapped up at the HPCA Stadium. India's specialist slip fielders Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma also joined Dhoni as the team worked on their slip catching which was poor in the recent Test series against Sri Lanka.
Rahane gets tips from India head coach Ravi Shastri is well aware of the importance of getting Ajinkya Rahane back in form for the all-important South Africa tour. With Rahane managing just 17 runs in the three Tests against Sri Lanka, Shastri monitored Rahane's entire net session closely where he faced throwdowns, pacers and spinners. The coach was seen discussing Rahane's front foot movement - where it was landing and seemed to provide a solution. Rahane was seen nodding in agreement.
'Malinga hai kya?' Lasith Malinga may not be a part of this Sri Lankan ODI team, but the burly pacer is still a hit amongst locals and cops here. As Sri Lanka practised yesterday morning, policemen on duty and a few fans wanting a glimpse of the practice session were inquisitive about Malinga's presence. "Malinga hai kya (is Malinga practicing?)," cops and fans were constantly heard asking. It was only after a while they discovered that Malinga is not part of the team. Nonetheless, Malinga is the poster boy of the Sri Lankan team.
