Mumbai cricketer Hiken Shah who was recently banned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), over his illegal approach during IPL-8, moved the Bombay High Court citing an unfair hearing by the Indian board.

The 31-year-old cricketer was handed a five-year ban after the BCCI disciplinary committee found him guilty of making an illegal approach to now-suspended Rajasthan Royals franchise spinner Pravin Tambe.
The disciplinary committee was headed by board president Shashank Manohar and also comprised of Niranjan Shah and Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Speaking on behalf of his client, Shah's lawyer, Som Sinha, defended the cricketer and stressed his client got an unfair deal.
"How can BCCI make allegations and then prove it themselves without a proper hearing?" questioned Sinha.
"It's totally unfair. It's like, now that we have made an allegation, we have to somehow prove it. That has been the case with Shah," Sinha told mid-day yesterday.
"BCCI's order is without merit. The complaintant was never made to sit in front of my client and cross-examined like they do in court.
"Allegations can be made on anyone, but you have to prove it with concrete proof, which BCCI doesn't have. Hence, we have moved the court, which will play a neutral role. We will ask for a cross-examination of the witness," Sinha added.
