Despite Test batter Sarfaraz Khan’s brilliant century (138 and 36), all-rounder Aakash Parkars unbeaten 90 and vice-captain Suved Parkar’s (72 and 40) good show Mumbai lost to TNCA XI (Tamil Nadu Cricket Association XI) by two wickets in their opening game of the Buchi Babu All India Invitation Cricket Tournament in Chennai on Wednesday.

Opting to bat, Mumbai scored 412-5 in 90 overs and took an 87 runs first innings lead. Riding on opener Tushar Raheja’s 137 TNCA managed to score 325-5 in their 90-over game.


However, Mumbai were bowled out for just 178 in 44.1 overs in the second essay as hosts left-arm spinner Siddharth M claimed 5-66. 



While chasing a winning target of 265, TNCA’s opener B Sachin scored an attacking 115 off 105 balls to hand his team two wickets win with two wickets remaining.
