Cricketer-turned-politician, commentator and TV personality Navjot Singh Sidhu was admitted to Delhi's Apollo Hospital on Tuesday evening with a&nbsp;life threatening condition if not treated on&nbsp;time.
The former BJP MP from Amritsar, who was admitted with a serious condition called acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT), is stated to be stable.

"Mr Navjot Singh Sidhu was admitted to Indraprastha Apollo&nbsp;Hospitals Delhi today evening with acute deep vein thrombosis&nbsp;(DVT). This is a life threatening condition if not treated on&nbsp;time.
"Mr Sidhu has been put on blood thinners and has been&nbsp;recovering well. His condition is said to be stable as of now," said a statement issued by Indraprastha Apollo Hospital&nbsp;authorities.
His wife and BJP MLA Navjot Kaur Sidhu informed people of the hospitalisation on her Facebook page. She posted that Sidhu had suffered an attack of 'Deep Vein thrombosis' after an injury during Kailash Yatra.
Sidhu posted a picture of himself in the hospital on a micro-blogging site with the tweet, "Down but Not Out! Life threatening disease (DVT) With God 's Grace will recover. Life is Fragile, handle with Prayer."
Sidhu represented India in 51 Tests and 136 ODIs&nbsp;between 1983 and 1999.
Harbhajan Singh &rlm;tweeted his support for the former Indian opener, who is also known as Sherry. Bhajji tweeted, "Sherry paaaa tusi sher Ho.paji step out and hit this DVT out of the park like always khaataaaak. Love u paji."
WHAT IS DVT?
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) occurs when a blood clot (thrombus) forms in one or more of the deep veins in your body, usually in your legs. Deep vein thrombosis can cause leg pain or swelling, but may occur without any symptoms.
Deep vein thrombosis can develop if you have certain medical conditions that affect how your blood clots.
Deep vein thrombosis can also happen if you don't move for a long time, such as after surgery, following an accident, or when you are confined to a hospital or nursing home bed.
Deep vein thrombosis is a serious condition because blood clots in your veins can break loose, travel through your bloodstream and lodge in your lungs, blocking blood flow (pulmonary embolism).
