India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has firmly dismissed media reports suggesting his departure from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) following the conclusion of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The 21-year-old took to social media platform X to clarify his stance and reassure fans of his continued association with the franchise.
“I tend to stay away from the noise, but some things deserve clarity,” Reddy wrote. “My connection with SRH is built on trust, respect, and years of shared passion. I'll always stand by this team.”

Reddy’s statement comes amid speculation that he was unhappy with his role at SRH and considering a move away.

He was among just five players kept on by the team following their impressive run to the IPL 2024 final. In the 2025 season, Reddy featured in 13 matches, scoring 182 runs, which was a modest return compared to his breakthrough campaign the previous year.
In IPL 2024, Reddy had emerged as one of the most promising young talents, amassing 303 runs at a strike rate of 142.92 and picking up three wickets. His standout knocks included match-defining half-centuries against Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals. His performances earned him the prestigious Emerging Player of the Year award, further cementing his reputation as a future star.
Outside the IPL, Reddy’s international career has seen mixed fortunes in recent weeks. Named in India’s squad for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 against England, he was ruled out of the final two Tests due to a left knee injury sustained after the third match.
Reddy did not feature in the series opener at Leeds but was included in the playing XI for the second and third Tests. While his performance in the second Test was underwhelming, scoring just two runs and delivering six wicketless overs, he bounced back strongly in the third. At Lord’s, Reddy played a key role with the ball, dismissing openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley in the same over in the first innings and removing Crawley again in the second. His batting contributions of 30 and 13, although not match-winning, added to India’s effort in a narrow 22-run defeat.
