Several reports surfaced in the media on Saturday about Harmeet&rsquo;s suspension after the left-arm spinner met the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) chief Ravi Sawani, who is investigating the Indian Premier League (IPL) spot fixing scandal at the BCCI headquarters. <img alt="Harmeet Singh" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/jul/Harmeet-Singh.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 664px;" /> Harmeet Singh Harmeet&rsquo;s name cropped in the spot fixing scandal last week after bookie Jitender Singh, who was arrested in connection with the IPL scandal, claimed that he had tried to get the 20-year-old involved, but didn&rsquo;t strike a deal as he was &ldquo;too young&rdquo; to get involved in fixing. Harmeet, who was part of the India U-19 World Cup-wining team last year, played only one match for Rajasthan Royals in the last IPL. u00a0The Borivali lad recorded his statement with the ACSU boss on Saturday. It took around an hour as the statement had to be written. It is learnt that the Delhi Police has given him a clean chit in the IPL spot fixing issue. A a month before the IPL-VI kicked off, Harmeet&rsquo;s Rajasthan Royals and Air-India teammate Ajit Chandila introduced him to the bookies, it is learnt. When Harmeet enquired who they were, all Chandila said was they were his brothers. It was the first and the last time Harmeet saw them. u00a0Harmeet sensed something fishy, but couldn&rsquo;t question Chandila as he was quite senior to him. He started to maintain a distance with Chandila later on. Harmeet did not report the meeting to the Royals&rsquo; team management as he did not see them during the IPL.u00a0Harmeet, who recently acquired a No Objection Certificate from the Mumbai Cricket Association in order to represent Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) in the Ranji Trophy due to lack of opportunities here, was shocked after his name cropped up in the IPL saga. It is learnt, he immediately called up BCCI ACSU chief Sawani to fix up a meeting with Delhi Police and clear the air. The VCA has kept his contract on hold as they want him to be cleared. u00a0

Contrary to reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), it is learnt, has not suspended Harmeet Singh.
