According to a BCCI press release, &ldquo;the decision was taken keeping in mind the duration of the series and amount of cricket he has played in recent times.&rdquo;

Meanwhile, KL Rahul has been ruled out of the Ranchi Test (February 23). &ldquo;His participation in the final Test match in Dharamsala is subject to fitness,&rdquo; the BCCI said. The Karnataka batsman-wicketkeeper missed the Vizag and Rajkot Tests due to a quadriceps injury.
