The Supreme Court pulled up N Srinivasan for his dual post yesterday. Srinivasan's tenure as the cricket body's secretary ends on September 28 and it seems the observation has come a bit late. "What is the point now"? asked former BCCI secretary Jaywant Lele. "He enjoyed three years of his tenure. His team (CSK) also won the IPL (earlier this year) once. "It does not solve any purpose now because no one will ask Srinivasan to resign as secretary just few days before his term ends," he said. However, the SC's suggestion could have a bearing on Srinivasan, who will contest for the post of BCCI president. It's south zone's turn to elect a president of the cricket body for the next term and Srinivasan is the hot favourite to replace Shashank Manohar. "It will certainly be opposed if he is elected. He will have to resign from India Cements because there is no one else except Vijay Mallya from the south zone.and even he cannot contest the president's post as he too owns an IPL team (Royal Challengers Bangalore)," observed Lele.
