In the ODI Women's World Cup 2025 match against New Zealand, Australia secured a dominating win by 89 runs at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Madhya Pradesh.


In an attempt to chase a target of 327 runs, New Zealand was bowled out for 237 runs in 43.2 overs.



Opening the innings for the "White Ferns", Suzie Bates and Georgia Plimmer returned to the pavilion without scoring any runs. After facing nine balls, Bates was clean bowled by Sophie Molineux, whereas Plimmer was run out by Annabel Sutherland.

Later, facing 56 balls, Amelia Kerr scored 33 runs, including five boundaries. Skipper Sophie Devine played a knock of 112 runs in 112 balls. Despite smashing 12 boundaries and three maximums, her knock was not enough to help her team secure a victory.

Brooke Halliday scored 28 runs off 38 balls, which was laced with two boundaries and a maximum. Maddy Green departed after scoring 20 runs in balls, with the help of three boundaries.

Izzy Gaze and Jess Kerr played a knock of 28 and two runs, respectively. Facing 18 balls, Gaze smashed six boundaries, and Kerr was dismissed after three balls.

Eden Carson and Breearne Illing returned to the pavilion on ducks. Lea Tahuhu stayed unbeaten on one run in two balls.

Molineux and Sutherland were the most successful bowlers for Australia. Molineux claimed three wickets by conceding 25 runs in 8.2 overs, whereas Sutherland leaked 26 runs and bagged three wickets.

Alana King also snapped two wickets and was smashed for 44 runs in eight overs. Kim Garth, Darcie Brown, and Ashleigh Gardner went wicketless in the ODI Women's World Cup 2025 match against the "White Ferns".

Earlier in the match, Gardner delivered a stunning knock of 115 runs for the Aussies. Facing just 83 balls, she smashed 16 runs and a maximum. Her knock helped the side post a target of 327 runs in 49.3 overs. Along with her, Phoebe Litchfield also contributed by scoring 45 runs, with the help of six boundaries and two maximums.

For New Zealand, Jess Kerr, Lea Tahuhu claimed three wickets each. Also, Amelia Kerr and Breearne Illing registered two wickets each.
