The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said yesterday it would not suspend players embroiled in betting scam allegations while the claims are investigated, though they are set to miss the next match. A PCB spokesman told AFP: "Chairman Ijaz Butt just told me that since there is a case going on with the Scotland Yard we are not going to suspend any player. "He further said that this is only an allegation so far. There is still no charge or proof on that account. So at this stage there will be no action taken." After a day of high-level talks between Pakistani diplomats, politicians both here and in Islamabad and PCB officials, the three players ufffd Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir ufffd will today be told whether they can expect to play any part in the ODI series. Kamran Akmal, the fourth player named in the newspaper expose, could be free to play in both the warm-up match in Taunton and the ODI series starting with Sunday's Twenty20 clash in Cardiff, London's Express newspaper revealed. It is understood he no longer forms part of the investigation into the activities of alleged fixer Mazhar Majeed.
