The latest chapter of the storied cricket rivalry lived up to expectations as India and Pakistan clashed in Match 7 of the Hong Kong Sixes 2026. After winning the toss, Pakistan captain Abbas Afridi chose to bowl first, successfully restricting India to 88 for five from their allotted six overs, despite an aggressive 40-run cameo off just 11 deliveries by Shashank Singh.
Opening the innings, Rahul Tripathi and Nitish Rana provided a steady start before Muhammad Shahzad struck in the second over to remove Tripathi for nine. Shashank immediately added momentum to the innings, smashing 16 runs from three balls. Although Nitish struggled to get going with 19 runs from 14 balls, Shashank continued his assault in the fourth over by scoring 24 runs, which included three maximums and a boundary.
