Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness and coach Louis van Gaal today agreed to put aside their differences at clear-the-air talks held to defuse the simmering row which had been brewing between them.

The pair, along with chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, vice-chairman Karl Hopfner and sporting director Christian Nerlinger, held an "open discussion" immediately after arriving in Cluj ahead of tomorrow's Champions League clash with the Romanian side.
