Karnataka's Karun Nair entered the record books as the highest run-getter in a Ranji Trophy final, surpassing Gul Mohammad's 319 for Baroda against Holkar in 1946-47 against Tamil Nadu at the Wankhade Stadium yesterday.

He achieved the feat within just 26 minutes of play on Day Four of the final. He set the record with a single as he flicked Tamil Nadu's Lakshmipathi Balaji to deep square-leg. The 23-year-old's innings came to an end when he misread a straight delivery from Vijay Shankar and was adjudged leg before after scoring 328. His 560-ball knock was laced with 46 boundaries and a six.
