Karnataka have been the most consistent and dominant team in domestic cricket for the past few years and captain Vinay Kumar felt the self belief and experience is the plus point for his side as they clash with Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy final at the Wankhede Stadium from today.

&ldquo;Most of the players have played domestic cricket for five to six years and they know what kind of fitness and mindset they need to put in the efforts required to succeed which has been our biggest plus,&rdquo; he said.
The middle order has failed to get going for the defending champions, but Kumar was not too worried about the top six batters not scoring heavily this season.
Positive thinking &ldquo;We are not thinking about the negatives at the moment. Your top six batsmen cannot perform always. The mindset is that two to three have to perform and whoever performs well on that day has to perform big,&rdquo; Vinay Kumar said. The pace trio of Vinay Kumar, Abhimanyu Mithun and Sreenath Arvind have been performing consistently well for the past couple of years, making Karnataka the best bowling unit in the country.
Karnataka are sweating over the fitness of CM Gautam as the wicketkeeper-batsman pulled a muscle in their semi final against Mumbai and is doubtful for the final.
Tamil Nadu on the other hand, had a undesirable start to this season&rsquo;s Ranji Trophy and managed to win just one game in their first five encounters. Their skipper Abhinav Mukund believes the turnaround happened in their league match against Uttar Pradesh at Chennai.
'History is history' Tamil Nadu last won the Ranji Trophy 27 years ago, but Mukund, did not want to dwell too much into the past: &ldquo;History is history. Right now, what we can change is in our hands and we will go out and play the best we know and leave the result to follow.&rdquo;
