London: Hailing the IPL as a top-class tournament, hard-hitting West Indian batsman Chris Gayle has credited the cash-rich Twenty20 annual event for Indian cricket's rise in different formats of the game.

Gayle, who played a big part for Royal Challengers Bangalore reaching the play-offs in season 8, believes that the tournament has really been the shot in the arm for many a young cricketer. "Look at Indian cricket at the moment. They are dominating all forms of the game now and the reason is the IPL," Gayle was quoted as saying on telegraph.co.uk.
