<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/when-master-turns-chef-former-team-india-cricketer-sachin-tendulkar-cooks-ukdiche-modak-23632774" rel="nofollow">Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar</a> wants the Impact Player rule to be scrapped to restore the balance between bat and ball in the IPL.
&ldquo;On a personal note, I feel the Impact Player needs to go away,&rdquo; Tendulkar said during an award function.
&ldquo;I feel in a T20 format you just have to play 20 overs, and then you are adding one more batter to that line-up. Where bowlers are already being challenged, I find that imbalance.&rdquo;
The batting great also proposed increasing the bowling quota of one player per team from four overs to five. &ldquo;One bowler should be allowed to bowl five overs. Because invariably the best bowler of the side is going to bowl that fifth over.
Tendulkar also heaped praise on 15-year-old Orange Cap winner <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ipl-2026-vaibhav-sooryavanshi-wins-orange-cap-award-here-are-all-statistics-you-need-to-know-23633015" rel="nofollow">Vaibhav Sooryavanshi</a> (776 runs at a strike-rate of 237.31).&nbsp;
&ldquo;It was magnificent. I mean, he [Sooryavanshi] is something truly special. And not just the ability to hit the ball, but what also fascinated me was the wrist work that he has,&rdquo; Tendulkar said.
&ldquo;He is not slogging the ball. He is just picking the line and length earlier than the rest of the guys, and he is able to clear the rope comfortably,&rdquo; he added.
