Former Australian Cricketer Shane Warne passed away at the age of 52 due to 'suspected heart attack'. The moment the news broke, sports and film personalities paid their tributes to the legend. Ricky Ponting, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Ajinkya Rahane, Shoaib Malik were the firsts to condole his demise and pay tribute. 

Ponting wrote- "Devastated, we have lost a legend. Rod Marsh was a great player, a great coach and one of the best people I have ever met. My thoughts are with Ros, Paul, Dan and Jamie."


Virat Kohli stated- "Life is so fickle and unpredictable. I cannot process the passing of this great of our sport and also a person I got to know off the field. RIP #goat. Greatest to turn the cricket ball."



Sir Vivian Richards shared a picture with the veteran and expressed his sorrows. He tweeted- "Unbelievable. I am shocked to the core. This can't be true... Rest In Peace, @ShaneWarne. There are no words to describe what I feel right now. A huge loss for cricket."

Sehwag tweeted- "Cannot believe it. One of the greatest spinners, the man who made spin cool, superstar Shane Warne is no more. Life is very fragile, but this is very difficult to fathom. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans all around the world."

His former teammate Adam Gilchrist shared his sorrow by posting multiple heartbreak emojis on social media.

Kevin Pietersen too shared the crying emojis on his Twitter account.

Shoaib Malik wrote- "- Shocked to hear the news of legendary #ShaneWarne passing away..."

Harbhajan Singh wrote- "Nooooooooooooooo can’t believe you are no more @ShaneWarne. RIP my HERO .. don’t wanna believe this .. totally shattered."

Ajinkya Rahane also expressed his sorrows by writing- "Shocked to hear about Shane Warne's departure. Shared some wonderful years with him during the start of my career. Rest in peace, legend!"

Shikhar Dhawan penned- "Sad, speechless, and completely shocked. An incredible loss to cricket. I have no words. Thank you for everything you’ve done for the sport. Rest in Peace, Shane Warne. Sending my condolences to his loved ones."

Gautam Gambhir spoke about Warne's talent and stated- "Very few can match their attitude with raw talent. #ShaneWarne made bowling look like magic! RIP."

“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” Warne’s management confirmed in a statement as per news reports.
