Dhaka: Shivlal Yadav, the interim chief of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) feels he will be able to forge a successful partnership with the IPL&rsquo;s stand-in chief Sunil Gavaskar. He told&nbsp;mid-day from Hyderabad: &ldquo;Gavaskar se jodi jam jayegi (Our partnership will thrive).&rdquo;

Yadav feels there is some invisible connection with Gavaskar and him as far as various milestones in their careers are concerned. &ldquo;Gavaskar got to his 10,000 runs in the same Test in which I completed 100 wickets. Because his feat was so massive, there was little buzz around my milestone,&rdquo; recalled Yadav.
He added: &ldquo;When I retired after the 1986 Test at Bangalore against Pakistan, people did not notice that because Gavaskar scored 96 on a turning track. Many fans believe it is his best Test knock ever. Ultimately it turned out to be his last Test innings too!&rdquo;
The coincidence does not end there as Yadav pointed out. &ldquo;When he became the National Cricket Academy chief, I was the director there. And now when he is heading IPL this season, I have become interim president of BCCI. There are these coincidences, that&rsquo;s why I feel, our pair will enjoy great success.&rdquo;
