Board of Control for Cricket in India Honorary Secretary N Srinivasan has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. The India Cements boss, who calls the shots at his Indian Premier League team, Chennai Super Kings, has been accused of fixing umpires for IPL ties. Now comes the accusation of using unfair means to get Andrew Flintoff to play for Chennai Super Kings.

Above all this is the conflict of interest issue. How can a Board functionary be an owner of a team is a question which has been doing the rounds for a while now. While Lalit Modi continues to be suspended as IPL commissioner, Srinivasan has not been restricted from wielding his power. However, things could change. It is learnt that certain Board members have taken a serious view of CNN IBN's report about Srinivasan fixing Flintoff's entry into Chennai Super Kings. Those Board members do not want him to be the next BCCI president.

It is also learnt that Srinivasan will be asked to give up his position as boss of Chennai Super Kings and handover charge to his brother. Will Srinivasan's wings be clipped in the power corridors of Indian cricket? Only time will tell.
