Suspended Mumbai cricketer Hiken Shah has written to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Anurag Thakur, requesting the Board to release his match fees for 2014-15 season due to a medical emergency in his family.

Shah&rsquo;s match fees were withheld after the BCCI&rsquo;s Disciplinary Committee banned the batsman for five years for an alleged corrupt approach to one of his Ranji teammates.
In a letter to the BCCI, Shah wrote: &ldquo;My father has been hospitalised for chest pain. Doctor had advised to do angiography and after seeing the reports, the doctor has advised a bypass surgery immediately as his heart is only 15 per cent functional.&rdquo;
