RR’s 225-run chase against LSG on Tuesday night was a record 16th time a 200-plus target was achieved this IPL; mid-day gives you a lowdown on how these big totals were hunted down

SRH 201-9 vs RCB 203-4, March 28
A 101-run stand for the second wicket between Virat Kohli (69 not out off 38 balls) and Devdutt Padikkal (61 off 26 balls) ensured defending champions RCB kicked off their campaign on a positive note, chasing down a mammoth 202-run target with ease, and 26 balls to spare.
KKR 220-4 vs MI 224-4, March 29
Openers Ryan Rickelton (81 off 43 balls) and Rohit Sharma (78 off 38 balls) decided the game in the first half of the chase itself with a 148-run stand in 11.5 overs as MI overhauled a towering 221-run target with five balls to spare.
CSK 209-5 vs PBKS 210-5, April 3
Openers Priyansh Arya (39 off 11 balls) started the 210-run chase in brutal fashion. Later, skipper Shreyas Iyer (50 off 29 balls) made the target look easy as PBKS sealed the game comfortably with eight balls remaining.
RCB 201-8 vs RR 202-4, April 10
The 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi set the tone with a blazing 78 off 26 deliveries, while Dhruv Jurel (81 not out off 43 balls) ensured RR stayed well ahead of the required run-rate to complete the chase in 18 overs.
SRH 219-6 vs PBKS 223-4, April 11
For the second time in a row openers Arya (57 off 20 balls) and Prabhsimran Singh (51 off 25 balls) provided a flying start with a 99-run stand in just 6.2 overs. Skipper Iyer then made the chase look easy with an unbeaten 69 off 33 balls as PBKS won in 18.5 overs.
GT 205-3 vs RCB 206-5, April 24
Star opener Kohli led the chase with a brilliant 81 off 44 balls, ably supported by Padikkal (55 off just 27 balls). The duo added 115 runs off 59 balls as RCB overhauled the 206-run target with seven balls remaining.
DC 264-2 vs PBKS 265-4, April 25
PBKS chased down the highest target in T20 history, powered by an explosive knock from opener Prabhsimran Singh (76 off 26 balls). Iyer then finished it off with an unbeaten 71 off 36 balls, underlining PBKS’s dominance in chases with yet another 200-plus effort.
