"I think last year we were talking about 70 million pounds," the Spaniard told the BBC's 'Football Focus' programme. The 50-year-old, who spent six years at Anfield before leaving the club, suggested Torres' recent lack of form may have been an aggravating factor when it came to deciding on a price. He said: "He was not playing at the same level the last time, but he is still a very good player. It is big money but could have been even better."
