VINOD Kambli, the flamboyant Mumbai and India cricketer has become a father for the first time.

Kambli's wife Andrea gave birth to a baby boy on June 8 at a nursing home in Bandra. "The thrill of becoming a father for the first time cannot be aptly described," said the 38-year-old willow wielder, who married Andrea Hewitt in 2006 (first reported by MiD DAY.)

"I have more responsibility now. I am really thankful to God for this wonderful gift, Dr Meera Agarwal has beenu00a0 great and above all, I want to thank Andrea for what she has given me.

"Sachin (childhood friend Tendulkar) was very happy when he got the news. He and Anjali have sent their best wishes," said Kambli.

Andrea said that the feeling was "amazing" and the baby looks like both of them. "His eyes and nose are like Vinod's while his lips are like mine. He is very fairu00a0-- pink and handsome," she said.
