Test skipper Virat Kohli has finally got control of all three formats of the game that India feature in. With the Champions Trophy and World Cup in sight, the time is right for Kohli to take over with MS Dhoni, 'keeping and batting freely without the burden of captaincy.
Kohli has played under Dhoni since he made his limited overs debut in 2008 and he holds the former skipper in high esteem. His tweet, after Dhoni stepped down from the ODI and T20 captaincy said: "Thanks for always being the leader a youngster wants to have around him. You'll always be my captain @msdhoni Bhai." With five consecutive series wins, Kohli has taken India to new heights in Tests and he is also very happy with the team that he got for the ODIs and T20s. Talking about the skipper's reaction, the chairman of selectors MSK Prasad said: "Virat (Kohli) has spoken to us, he was with us on Skype. This is the best possible team we could pick. This is a fantastic team, we are very clear in our conscience. Whether success or failure, this committee takes responsibility for it."
