West Indies thrash NZ in Super Six tie

West Indies registered a 48-run win over last year's runner-up New Zealand in their second Super Six tie at Brabourne Stadium yesterday to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for the ICC Women's World Cup final

After posting 207-9 on the board, West Indies bowled out the Kiwis for 159 in 44.3 overs. Pacer Tremayne Smartt (3-39) was the pick of the Windies bowlers, while Deandra Dottin 2-11 and spinner Anisa Mohammed 1-13, also made things tougher for the Kiwis. Anisa was adjudged Player of the Match for her unbeaten 31 towards the end of the innings, besides her bowling effort.
