In the WPL 2026 match against the Mumbai Indians, UP Warriorz skipper Meg Lanning won the toss and elected to bowl first at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.

After winning the toss, UPW skipper Lanning said that they would bowl first as it would help them put early pressure on Mumbai with the ball. The side will enter with the unchanged playing XI, and the skipper also stated that sometimes playing a match on the very next day of the previous game helps to bounce back.

On the other hand, when asked about the venue where she won the ODI World Cup 2025, Mumbai captain Harmanpreet Kaur expressed happiness and is hopeful that all the players continue to enjoy the game, as they did during the global showpiece.

The "Paltan" has made one change, where Nat Sciver-Brunt has come in place of Hayley Matthews, as she has been rested for the match.

Harmanpreet also said that a player like Nicola Carey should be playing all the matches, considering her contributions with both bat and ball. The skipper also said that she has been noticing that the teams so far have been scoring around 180 and above at the venue, and is hopeful of the wicket turning out well for the match.

Mumbai Indians will enter the clash with an aim of continuing their winning streak. After losing the first match, the "Paltan" has managed to secure two back-to-back wins.

UP Warriorz suffered a defeat in their previous match against Delhi Capitals (DC). They will look to avoid the mistakes and will be eager to register their first win of the ongoing tournament. So far, the Meg Lanning-led side has suffered three losses in as many matches.
