Former India cricketer Veda Krishnamurthy has urged UP Warriorz to appoint Deepti Sharma as captain for the upcoming TATA WPL 2027 season, emphasising the tactical advantages of having an Indian player lead the franchise. 

Speaking on JioStar's 'Match Centre Live Auction Special', Veda pointed out that naming Deepti, who has been with the franchise for four years, as captain would offer greater flexibility when finalising the team's four overseas slots, while former Australia skipper Meg Lanning could serve in a supporting role.
