There can't be a better sportsman than West Indies legend Sir Gary Sobers to comment on another Barbadian Carlos Brathwaite, who hit four consecutive sixes against England to help West Indies clinch the World T20 title at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Sunday.

Requiring 19 from the final over of the title clash, the 27-year-old hit pacer Ben Stokes hit for four successive sixes at the start of the final over to snatch the trophy from England.
"I did watch the match and the way Brathwaite hit the four consecutive boundaries, maybe he could have smashed six sixes in that over, had West Indies needed 36 runs off the last over," said Sobers.
Interestingly, Sobers was the first man to enter the record books to hit six sixes in an over in 1968, while playing for Nottinghamshire against Glamorgan at Swansea.

Pic/AFP "That was a different game and every game has its own situation. But yes, Brathwaite would have definitely tried his best in this scenario. He would have been more confident after first four sixes," the 80-year-old said.
Like Sobers, F Robin Parris, the Territorial Development Officer, attached with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), praised Brathwaite. "He definitely is capable of clearing any ground. Carlos' strength is his never-say-die attitude and his hundred per cent commitment to whatever the team requires," Paris added.
