India overcame Australia in a must-win encounter at Mohali on Super Sunday. We take a look at things that India did right to book their spot in the semi-finals of the 2016 ICC World T20.

1. India bowlers rally The Indian bowlers, led ably by Ashish Nehra (1-20) did well to hold back the Aussie onslaught in the middle overs after the Australian openers Usman Khawaja and Aaron Finch got off to a flier scoring 54 off just 4.2 overs. Some good tight bowling down the middle and leg and cramping the Australian batsmen for room saw the visitors score just 90 runs between overs six to 19.

2. yuvi bats, bowls well Yuvraj Singh just about lifted his backfoot after being beaten all ends up by leg-spinner Adam Zampa off his very first delivery in the 11th over, but wicketkeeper Peter Nevill paused before taking off the bails just after Yuvraj had grounded his foot. Yuvraj was on 9, and a wicket here would have set the hosts back at 65 for 4. Yuvraj survived and hammered a huge six off Zampa in the next over and went on to score an 18-ball 21.

3. Aggressive running Virat Kohli&rsquo;s aggressive running between the wickets &mdash; first briefly with Raina and then skipper MS Dhoni in the end overs &mdash; frustrated the Australians no end. When Dhoni joined Kohli, India needed 67 off 36 balls. The asking rate was always above the eight-run mark, but the duo ensured they picked up singles off almost every ball and also stole twos from right under the noses of the Australian outfielders.&nbsp;
4. kohli paces it right Virat Kohli began by hitting two consecutive fours off Josh Hazlewood. But, the dismissal of Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina in quick succession, followed by an injury to Yuvraj Singh, saw Kohli slow things down. Yuvraj turned down a couple of twos, leaving Kohli disappointed. However, after Yuvraj&rsquo;s exit, and with captain Dhoni for company, Kohli turned it on to ensure India achieved the 161 target with five balls to spare.
5. aussie bowlers falter When James Faulkner stepped up to bowl the 18th over, India were 118 for four, needing 39 runs off 18 balls. Watson had finished his great spell and it was over to Faulkner, the Finisher. But Kohli, though, went after the medium-pacer and hammered him for two consecutive fours and six. At the end of the over, India were in a much better position on 141-4, needing just 20 off the last two overs.
