Nagpur: In his first media conference since arriving in India for the ICC World T20, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson had no hesitation in saying that India were favourites to lift the trophy.

However, New Zealand has dominated India in the T20 cricket, winning all their four encounters against the Men in Blue since they first met in the inaugural World T20 in 2007.
Williamson is obviously keen to maintain that supremacy going into their World T20 opener against MS Dhoni's men at Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium here today.
"Every game of cricket is different. It is pretty much a clean slate and I hope it remains that way. It is the start of a tournament and it's important for us to be focused on our plans and execute them as best as we can. We certainly know that India is a very strong side in this competition and we have to be at our best. Twenty 20 cricket is fickle in nature and if you go out and express yourself, play with that freedom, anything can happen," said Williamson yesterday.
New Zealand come into the World T20 after playing a Test series against Australia. The Black Caps have tried their best to get into the slam-bang groove. They beat defending champions Sri Lanka convincingly, but were toppled by the England spinners when Williamson tinkered with the batting line-up.
"In warm-up games, you take small bits out of them, look to build on performances. In that game, we played a very new-look side and tried guys in different areas. "We are certainly expecting spin to play a big part in this tournament. From what cricket we have seen in Nagpur, spin looks likely to play a big part. It's important that we adjust our game plans accordingly," he said.
