South Africa are all set to clash against Australia for the World Test Championship (WTC) final at the Lord's Cricket Ground.
South Africa's bowling lineup consists of the likes of Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, and Marco Jansen, whereas Australia's pacer attack includes Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood.
Ahead of the title clash, legendary England pacer James Anderson gave advice to the pacers by saying, "A lot of people talk about the top of off stump being the ideal length, but I think here it's more three-quarters up the stump. That way you are a little bit fuller in length, so that's my advice for the seamers. Here is definitely somewhere you need to pitch the ball up".
Anderson has picked 123 wickets in 29 Test matches at the 'Home of Cricket'. Among all these pacers, the former English bowler picked Rabada as his favourite seamer.
"Steve Smith is one of the best batters in the world and Kagiso Rabada is one of my favourite bowlers to watch. I think he's got so many attributes that just make me want to tune into the TV and watch him," said the 42-year-old.
When asked about the key battle he is looking forward to, "The main one for me will be Rabada against Steve Smith and I think that could be a really good, interesting battle. He's a fantastic player, so I'm really looking forward to that battle," said the veteran of 188 Test matches.
Former England bowler Stuart Broad was working as a consultant with the South African team ahead of the WTC final. The Burnley-born Anderson feels that the Proteas made the smart move and stated that his former teammate can provide a lot of information to the South African players.
"I think it's a smart move from South Africa. He's someone who's had great success in English conditions and he knows Lord's in particular. He knows the ground very well, he's had success here and I think he can give a lot of information and advice to the South African team which will be great from their point of view," James Anderson concluded.
