Karachi: Pakistan cricket's chief selector Haroon Rasheed yesterday said that the provisional suspension slapped on leg-spinner Yasir Shah by the International Cricket Council (ICC) is a huge setback for the national team ahead of the upcoming New Zealand tour.

"You wake up every day and face a new problem in Pakistan cricket. We now have to revise all our plans for the coming events," Rasheed told PTI.
Anti-doping violations Shah was yesterday provisionally suspended for failing a dope test by the ICC. "Shah has been charged with an anti-doping rule violation on a sample he provided in an in-competition test," an ICC statement announced.
"The test, conducted on 13 November 2015, was found to contain the presence of chlortalidone, a Prohibited Substance which appears in Section 5 of the World Anti-Doping Agency list (in the category of Specified Substances)."
"In accordance with the ICC Anti-Doping Code, pending the outcome of the disciplinary process, Yasir has been provisionally suspended," said the ICC.
A source in the PCB confided to PTI that Yasir could face a ban between one to two years as the banned substance he had used was also technically seen as a masking agent.
"Yasir apparently took some medicines for a blood pressure problem but didn't inform the team doctor or the PCB medical panel, which was a grave mistake," the source said.
Yasir, 29, has been Pakistan's mainstay in Test matches since last year, scalping 76 wickets in 12 matches to lead the ICC bowler rankings. He also became the fastest Pakistani to complete 50 wickets in nine Tests. He has also picked up 18 ODI wickets.
