Here is the list of players with the most runs in Test cricket without scoring a single half-century (Pic: AFP)


Nathon Lyon
Surprisingly, topping the list is Australia's lead spinner Nathan Lyon. He achieved the milestone in a test match against New Zealand. So far, featuring 128 test matches, the veteran has scored 1,501 runs without registering a single half-century. Lyon has also achieved the feat of completing 527 wickets in test cricket

Kemar Roach
The second spot on the list is in the name of West Indies' pacer Kemar Roach. The pacer has accumulated 1,174 runs without scoring a half-century in the longest format of the game. So far, representing the side in 81 tests, Roach has bagged 270 wickets

Waqar Younis
Former Pakistan fast bowler Waqar Younis comes third on the list. Younis in 87 tests registered 1,010 runs with a half-century. The pacer was once a mainstay of Pakistan's bowling and also has 373 test wickets under his belt

Fred Trueman
Former England fast bowler Fred Trueman is the fourth on the list. He played 67 tests in which he scored 981 runs. Even he has not scored a single half-century in 67 tests but has registered 307 wickets to his name

Morne Morkel
Morne Morkel is the fifth player on the list to score the most runs without registering a single half-century in tests. He made 86 test appearances for South Africa in which he scored 944 runs. He also has 309 test wickets to his name
