Under fire Manchester United manager Michael Carrick believes his team are fully capable of snapping their shocking nine-game winless streak when they take on Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Unlike the Red Devils, Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma have made a red-hot start to their Serie A campaign, sitting in third place (24 points from 10 games), just four points adrift of league leaders Lazio. They also proved they can go toe-to-toe with some of the best sides in Europe when they narrowly lost to Real Madrid 3-4 last month. However, despite the odds appearing to be stacked against United, Carrick remains optimistic of a positive result. “You might call me crazy, but I’m looking forward to the game,” said Carrick before dismissing reports of disharmony in the dressing room. “The dressing room is in a good place, the commitment of the players to the club and each other, I don’t question it at all.”
