Neymar promised a warrior-like performance from PSG in their Champions League semi-final with Manchester City as his team attempts to overhaul a first-leg deficit. PSG are 1-2 down as they attempt to reach the final for the second successive year and Brazil star Neymar is aiming to turn things around tonight and give the French champions a chance of becoming European champions for the first time.

“We had a very difficult first leg against Manchester City but we have to believe, never mind what the stats say or what our percentage chances of winning are,” Neymar said on Sunday.
“I think every Parisian should believe in us. I am on the front line and I will be the first warrior to go into battle for the team. I will do everything to secure qualification whatever happens, even if we need to die out there on the field.”
On Saturday PSG struggled to a 2-1 win over Lens in Ligue 1 and Neymar admitted that there was a certain tiredness within the squad. “A large part of the team was tired, more mentally than physically, and we need to recover as quickly as possible,” he said.
Keep emotions in check: Pep
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola called on his Manchester City players to control their emotions if they are to reach a first ever Champions League final. “The second-leg of semi-final always the toughest game, more than the final. We have to control our emotions to do exactly what we have to do,” said Guardiola.
“You cannot play 90 minutes like we played in the second half [in Paris]. I would love to but it won’t happen. You have to understand it will be a big battle and we are going to suffer. They have to visualise that we are going to do it. What we have to do is not different to what we have done over the last seven months. Go out and play our game and win.”
