There are higher chances of star striker Kylian Mbappe making his Club World Cup debut when Real Madrid will clash against Juventus in the round of 16.

Speaking about Mbappe's feature in the upcoming clash against 'The Black and Whites', Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso said, "I don't know how much, but a big possibility".

Mbappé suffered from a gastrointestinal illness before Real Madrid's first Club World Cup match and was treated at a hospital. In the ongoing Club World Cup, the 26-year-old missed out on all three of Madrid's group stage matches as they went 2-0-1.

If he manages to show up for the match, it will provide a huge boost to the tournament that suffered a blow when legendary Lionel Messi and Inter Miami were eliminated in the Club World Cup's first knockout round. Miami suffered a loss against Mbappe's former side, Paris Saint-Germain.

With Kylian Mbappé's impending return following a stomach bug, Madrid has the firepower it needs to win the competition. Vinicius Junior struck and created a goal for Fede Valverde with a backheel assist in the 3-0 win over Salzburg, which helped Madrid seal top spot in Group H and avoid Manchester City.

Madrid needs the forward to click with last summer's marquee arrival, Mbappe, without sacrificing the team's defensive stability.

Alonso also said captain Dani Carvajal and defender Éder Militão would start Tuesday, adding to a back line that has needed new signings Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen to start every game thus far.

Carvajal has not played since tearing his ACL and undergoing surgery last fall.

"I could be on the bench at the disposal of the manager, so I'm very happy about that," Carvajal said Monday at Real Madrid's training centre in Palm Beach Gardens.

Real Madrid will clash against Juventus at 12.30 am at the Hard Rock Stadium in the Southeastern United States, Florida.

So far in the Club World Cup, Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras, Chelsea F.C., Fluminense FC, Alhilal Saudi Club, Paris Saint-Germain F.C., and FC Bayern Munich are the teams that have qualified for the quarter-final stage.
