Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea's girlfriend Edurne Garcia will have to spend most of her time on crutches for the next few weeks after the Spanish singer underwent knee surgery recently.

Garcia, 32, shared a picture yesterday (above) with her 900,000 followers on Instagram of herself in hospital with her left leg completely bandaged. The stunning blonde did not go into details of the operation, but she did tell her fans that it had been planned for some time. "I start the year with an operation on my knee that was pending!! It has gone very well and will be like new!! Thank you all for the messages of love!" she wrote. De Gea and Garcia have been dating since 2010.
