Vardy has scored 14 goals for Leicester this season, and has recently broken the Premier League record previously held by Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy when he struck in 11 consecutive games.
Ivanovic is wary of the threat Vardy poses, but will attempt to stop the England international by any means necessary.
When asked id he would kick Vardy, Ivanovic replied: "If this helps, yes. Some of the strikers don't like (it) when you kick (them). You kill their confidence.
"Vardy at the moment is running a lot and is making the space for other players as well. They are confident. I think it will be very hard."
Chelsea sit in the bottom half of the table ahead of the clash with Leicester after a poor start to the season. Jose Mourinho's side have lost eight of their 15 Premier League games, while Claudio Ranieri's men have been beaten just once.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, lauded the striker, saying he has the quality to be a success at a bigger club.
Big-game player "He is top scorer and it is normal that big clubs want him," he said ahead of Chelsea's trip to King Power Stadium.
"Even at a big club transitions are important, fast players are important, people to attack space behind defenders are important.
"Obviously in the big teams sometimes we face very low blocks where technical players to play in the box are very much needed, but I think a fast player with objective and being direct can have success everywhere," Mourinho added.
