<p>Both Poland and Switzerland were tied 1-1 after extra time.</p>
<p>Jakub Blaszczykowski put Poland ahead in the first half before Xherdan Shaqiri brought the Swiss level in the 82nd minute.</p>
<div>Poland won a spot to the quarter finals through a penalty by midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak after Arsenal star Granit Xhaka missed a crucial kick for the Swiss.</div>
<p>They will go on to meet the winner of Croatia&nbsp;vs Portugal next in the quarter-finals on Thursday.</p>
