The out-of-form duo of Phil Foden and Cole Palmer were the most notable omissions from Thomas Tuchel’s 26-man squad for the FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico, which begins on June 11.

“From day one, we are trying to build the best possible team, which is not necessarily to select the 26 most talented players,” Tuchel said on Friday.
