The La Liga has traditionally been a two-horse race with Real Madrid and Barcelona almost always fighting for top honours and that's the reason the league probably plays second fiddle to the English Premier League which has at least five or six team that can vie for the title.

However, instead of sweating over this, the La Liga management takes this in a positive way. "Why don't we look at it the other way round? Messi and Ronaldo are the engines that are driving La Liga, so it's a great thing," La Liga's Area Audiovisual Director, Melcior Soler Sala told journalists here who are part of the La Liga Santander Experience. The success story of Atletico Madrid and now Sevilla further drive home the point that Messi and Ronaldo sure are doing a great job at engineering La Liga forward.
