Colombian pop star Shakira has reportedly split with long-time partner and FC Barcelona defender Gerard Pique, according to Spanish website Cotilleo. Pique has had turbulent times after the huge fallout from the recent Catalonia independence referendum. The decision to end his relationship will be latest addition to his existing problems.

Reports of the two heading for a break-up had been on the cards for a few months now, but a source close to Shakira apparently informed the Spanish website that she had confirmed the separation recently. And, that Shakira has moved out of the family home in Barcelona.
And, according to Cotilleo, "It's something serious and she's finally made the decision." If recent reports are true, an official announcement may be on the cards. Pique and Shakira were last seen together in public at Lionel Messi's wedding to Antonella Roccuzzo in Argentina this June.

The couple have two children &mdash; Milan, four, and Sasha, two. It is expected that Pique will be allowed to continue seeing his children if they eventually split.After he was booed at a recent Spanish national team training, he had said, "I consider this a family and I'm very proud to be in the Spanish national team."
