Chennai: Chennaiyin FC notched up a superb 3-0 victory over Mumbai City FC to keep themselves afloat for a semifinal berth at the second Hero Indian Super League (ISL) semifinals here yesterday.
Mumbai's hopes of entering the semis came to an end at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium after Stiven Mendoza (9'), Jeje Lalpekhlua (17') and Bernard Mendy (45'+2') found the net to seal three points for the hosts. With rains lashing the stadium here, both Mumbai and Chennai had to deal with the tricky conditions.
