<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/football/article/kylian-mbappe-doubtful-for-ucl-clash-against-man-city-due-to-knee-injury-23619099" rel="nofollow">Kylian Mbappe</a> will spearhead France at the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup as coach Didier Deschamps, on Thursday, announced his 26-man squad for the tournament in USA, Canada and Mexico.&nbsp;
Deschamps, who guided France to World Cup glory in 2018, did not spring too many surprises &mdash; the biggest absentee was Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, while backup goalkeeper Robin Risser is the only uncapped player in the squad.
&ldquo;It&rsquo;s a squad. Not necessarily the 26 best players. It&rsquo;s about balance and how the team comes together,&rdquo; Deschamps told French TV channel TF1. &nbsp; The star-studded roster also includes the likes of <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/football/article/champions-psg-win-ligue-1-for-fifth-successive-season-23630474" rel="nofollow">Paris Saint-Germain</a>&rsquo;s Ballon d&rsquo;Or winner Ousmane Dembele, Bayern Munich forward Michael Olise, Man City winger Rayan Cherki, and PSG attacker Desire Doue. Midfield stalwart N&rsquo;golo Kante, who now plies his trade at Turkish club Fenerbahce, is also part of the squad. &nbsp;The World Cup kicks off on June 11.
