Barcelona star Lionel Messi seems to be enjoying a caffeine-rich, tea-like South American drink called mate, which is very popular in Argentina and Uruguay. The star footballer has often been photographed sipping on the drink in pictures posted on social media recently.
Messi, 30, has been in tremendous form, having marked his 400th La Liga appearance with an early goal, as leaders Barcelona beat Levante 3-0 at the Nou Camp. And some fans are attributing his success to mate.
