England and Manchester United veteran defender Harry Maguire’s wife Fern posted a heartfelt message to him after he was distraught at being left out of Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad on Friday.

“Beyond devastated for you. There was nothing else you could have possibly done to prove your worth. I don’t need to tell you how admired you are, just a shame you were up against a single opinion,” Fern, 31, wrote on social media.
